Membership and Billing

In order to let prospective members experience the many benefits of Lesson Planet, we offer a 10-Day Free Trial that provides full access to our website. To sign up for a free trial, simply click the green “Try It Free” button at the top right of the page, and sign up using your credit card. During the 10-Day Free Trial period, you may cancel at any time, for any reason, and your credit card will not be charged. If you enjoy using Lesson Planet and do not cancel, you will be billed and your membership will automatically begin on the 11th day.

Lesson Planet Memberships start at $3 per month, and are billed annually (i.e. $36/year for Starter Members) beginning one day after your 10-Day Free Trial concludes. You’ll find more details about different plans, prices, and benefits on the sign-up page when you set up your 10-Day Free Trial.

Lesson Planet does offer another solution for schools and districts called Learning Explorer, which is a site license that provides unlimited access for all educators within a school, district or organization.

After the first year of membership, you will receive a 30-Day Reminder email notifying you of the Annual Renewal for your membership.

Note: It is important to keep your account information (current email, credit card info, etc.) up-to-date. To update or change your account info, click here. From your Membership page, you can manage all aspects of your Lesson Planet Membership.

Log in to Lesson Planet and then hover on your name (in the upper right-hand corner) and select “My Account.” From here, click “Manage Membership” in the right-hand column, and then “More Account Options” at the bottom of the page. Click the link that reads “Special offers and cancellations” below the “Change Plans” button.

Lesson Planet offers a 45-Day Money Back Guarantee. If for any reason you choose to end your membership with Lesson Planet, you may email our Member Success team at MemberSuccess@lessonplanet.com or call (888) 909-9035 to request a refund within 45 days of your credit card being billed.

Getting Started with Search, Resources and Curation Tools

Hover over Resources at the top right hand side and select Discover Resources. This search page gives you the option to search by grade, subject, resource type, standards and more. Check out our how-to video on how to navigate this search page.

1. To read a review, hover over a resource card and click See Full Review. This will open up the resource review page for that resource. Use this page to learn more about it.

2. The resource review page will open for that resource. Use this page to learn more about it. Read the description, discover ways to use it in the classroom, identify prerequisite information, and more.

*TIP: Click on the blue links to start a new search for other resources that match this one. Click on a concept, for example, would result in seeing other resources with the same concept.

1. To open a resource without reading a review, click Go to Resource on the resource card.

2. You can also open a resource from a review page by clicking Go to Resource on the top left, or by clicking on the image.

3. In most cases, when you check out a resource for yourself by clicking “Go to Resource” (or Unit, Lesson Plan, Video, Activity, Worksheet, etc.) from Lesson Planet, you will see it open in a new tab in your browser as a standard web page. To return to Lesson Planet and resume searching for resources, you’ll need to go to the previous tab at the top of your web browser.

4. If the resource does not open in the new tab, there should be an orange “Download Resource” that should appear at the top right that you can click on to open the resource. If the resource does not provide you the “Download Resource” option and is broken, please follow the instructions on how to flag a resource or leave a comment.

1. Locate your Collection Builder on the right side of the search page

2. Click on Create or Open and select +Create a New Folder

3. Fill out some basic information about your collection, including a title, grade(s), subject(s), and description (you can always edit this later)

4. Click +Create Folder to launch your new collection in the builder

5. Now, you can start adding resources to your new collection!

If you come across a resource that has an issue (broken link, resource isn’t available anymore, blocked by firewall, contains incorrect information), then flag it for review. A district administrator will review the flagged resource to determine what to do with it next.

1. From a resource review page, click the Flag icon next to the description.

2. Select the issue to determine the reason for flagging it. Leave a comment if necessary.

3. Submit the Flag for review.

To comment on a resource, click on the “Add a Comment” link that is towards the top right below the description of the resource.
