Build & Edit Collections

Organize your resources into meaningful collections with a simple drag-and-drop builder! You can create collections around standards, themes, units, playlists, lessons, and more. Our flexible tools allow you to easily edit and customize your collections to meet the needs of every learner in your class.

Creating a New Collection

There are two ways to create a new collection. This section explains how to create new collections from the Collection Builder and directly from your Curriculum Manager.

Create a New Collection in the Collection Builder

1. Locate your Collection Builder on the right side of the search page

2. Click on Create or Open and select +Create a New Folder

3. Fill out some basic information about your collection, including a title, grade(s), subject(s), and description (you can always edit this later)

4. Click +Create Folder to launch your new collection in the builder

5. Now, you can start adding resources to your new collection!

Create a New Collection in the Curriculum Manager

1. From your Curriculum Manager, click Create a Folder

2. Fill out some basic information about your collection, including a title, grade(s), subject(s), and description (you can always edit this later)

*Note: You also have the option to change the “Folder Type” here. You can choose Curriculum Sets, Chapters, Lessons, Assessment Sets, or Unit Modules (the default folder type is Collection)

3. Now, you can start adding resources to your collection, including new and existing folders

Adding Resources

Adding resources to a collection is as easy as click-drag-drop! Add as many as you’d like, then feel free to downsize or edit later.

Drag and Drop with the Collection Builder

1. Select the collection you want to add resources to in the Collection Builder

2. Click and hold a resource from search, then drag and drop the resource into the builder

3. Continue adding resources, adjusting your search and filters to find exactly what your collection needs

4. Reorder items in your collection, and delete any item as needed

Add a Resource from a Review Page

1. From the search page, click on a resource to open its review page

2. At the top of the review page, click Add to Collection and select the collection you wish to add it to

*Note: A resource can only be added once to a given collection

Editing & Customizing Collections

Once you’ve added resources to your collection, you can really begin to personalize and differentiate it with collection editor. This section explains how you can easily rearrange resources, update your description or other details, make a copy, add more resources, and more!

Edit a Collection

1. Open your collection editor tool. 

*Note: You can get here by clicking Edit Collection on the builder…Or from your Curriculum Manager under the “Actions” dropdown menu

2. Update your title, grades, subjects, description, and thumbnail on the left. On the right, you can drag and drop to reorder items

4. You can edit individual resource by clicking on the three-dots icon

  • Hide from Player allows the resource  to be hidden from player view, but still keeps the resource in the collection

  • Teacher Note lets you, the collector, make a note about a resource that’s visible only to you
  • Delete permanently removes a resource from your collection

Customize a Collection

1. Using the toolbar at the top of the editor, locate the +Add Items menu. You can really take your collection to the next level of customization and personalization with the tools in this dropdown menu

Add a link 

You can add any link to your collection with a simple copy-paste. 

1. Find a link you wish to use, and copy the link

2. Paste the link into the Add a Link tool

3. Click Add to Collection, and then rearrange the added link to fit the flow of your collection.

Upload a File

You can upload any file from your computer into your collection. 

*Note: any file you upload directly to a collection can also be accessed in your Uploaded Files folder in your Curriculum Manager

Add a Pixabay Image 

Add high-quality images directly to your collection with Pixabay’s Image Search.

1. Type a descriptive term into the search bar to launch a search (you can also select an image type if you want something specific)

2. Click on the images you want to select

3. Click Add Selected to Collection, and then rearrange the images to fit the flow of your collection

Create a Page

Create custom pages to use in your collection, and edit them at anytime. Create a table of contents, list out student directions, craft a problem-solving task, embed a video with questions, add an image, or insert a calendar. The opportunities are endless with this blank drawing board!  

Whatever you do, don’t forget to SAVE your work before leaving the page.
